Chloe Zhao

Co-President

Chloe Zhao is a senior from Maryland concentrating in Neuroscience and Philosophy. She joined the club her freshman year because of her passion for the brain and her love of creating relationships with the residents. Outside of BAA, she plays flute in the Brown University Orchestra, studies olfaction in the Barnea lab, and works as a medical scribe for Brown Dermatology.

Rachel thompson

Co-president

Rachel Thompson is a senior pursuing a concentration in Neuroscience. She loves volunteering at Wingate Residences on the weekends and interacting with the residents. She also works in the Aizenman tadpole lab, volunteers for the Samaritans of Rhode Island, and enjoys perusing the aisles of Trader Joe's.

Justin Weiss

Events Manager

Justin is a junior from Blue Bell, PA studying Applied Mathematics - Economics. He joined BAA his sophomore     year excited about the educational and advocacy-based components of the club in addition to the hands-on opportunities to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s Disease. Outside of BAA, Justin is a Peer Advisor for Transfer and Resumed Undergraduate Education students, participates in the Brown Socially Responsible Investment Fund, and is a student leader for Brown’s Data Science Institute DUG.

KatE kupsaw

Secretary

Kate is a Junior (24.5) concentrating in Neuroscience. She is the secretary for BAA. She joined BAA her sophomore year to learn more about current Alzheimer’s research and continue volunteering at assisted living facilities as she had in high school. Outside of our club, she is also an instructor for the Brown Brain Bee, a research assistant in the Causality and Mind lab, and a member of Beauty and the Beats.

Hailey Tomashek

PR/Advocacy Manager

Hailey Tomashek is a senior concentrating in Biology and Public Health. She joined the club as a sophomore in hopes of learning about Alzheimer's and because of her familial experiences with the disease. Outside of BAA, Hailey is a Meiklejohn, UTA for Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases, and participating in global health research for programs in rural Nepal.

Charlotte Bain

Volunteer Co-Coordinator

Charlotte is a sophomore planning on concentrating in Biochemistry. She joined the club her freshman year and loved the opportunity to connect with Alzheimer’s patients during volunteering. She is also a member of Brown’s equestrian team and loves to bake and read in her free time. 

SARAH REICHHELD

Advocacy Director

Sarah is a senior at Brown studying Neuroscience. She joined BAA this past year because she does research in an Alzheimer’s lab and was excited to get involved in the advocacy side of the Alzheimer’s movement as well. At Brown, she interprets at the Rhode Island Free Clinic, runs track and cross-country, tutors high school math, and helps lead the Neuro DUG.

Grace Jordan

Volunteer Co-Coordinator

Grace Jordan is junior at Brown studying Public Health.  She joined BAA last year to be able to volunteer and spend more time helping people with Alzheimer’s. Outside of BAA, she is the secretary for Farmlink @ Brown, is the Communications Chair for Brown Saving Mothers, and tutors middle schoolers in Providence through FLIP.

Grace Jordan

Volunteer Co-Coordinator

Grace is a senior concentrating in Public Health and Education Studies. She joined BAA because of her experience with a family member with Alzheimer’s. She is a research assistant at the School of Public Health and Bradley Hospital in studies surrounding adolescent substance use. Grace also leads tutoring sessions at a local middle school as part of Brown Tutoring Corps.

Jaden Zhang

Volunteer Co-Coordinator

Jaden is a sophomore planning to concentrate in biology and public health. He joined the club because of his interest in the disease and his experience with family members suffering from dementia. Outside of the club, he is involved with the American Cancer Society at Brown and volunteers at the Rhode Island Free Clinic.

GRACE DESMOND

Co-President

Grace Desmond is a senior pursuing a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience. Grace has a passion for learning about aging and neurodegenerative disorders. Outside of BAA, she competes on the Track and Field team, works in the Aging and Cognition Lab, and serves as a Cog DUG Leader.

Daniel Zhu

Treasurer

Daniel Zhu is a sophomore from California concentrating in Computer Science and Neuroscience. He joined BAA last year because of his passion for the brain and desire to connect with elderly residents. Daniel is interested in applying computer science to develop treatments for Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative disorders. At Brown, he is also a team coordinator with Connect for Health, a TA for CS0150, and a member of the Brown Machine Intelligence Community.
