This week, we will be discussing the contents from last week and this week! Our content for this week focuses on the history of Alzheimer's advocacy and how Alzheimer's has been portrayed in media.

This week, we will be discussing the following content: Why is it important to advocate for patients with Alzheimer's Disease? And what are some ways we can continue participating in advocacy? The articles provide a nice overview of the topic, and if you have time before our meeting, read over them briefly! If not, that's also fine, as we will be leading the discussion :).

This week, we will be discussing an article related to the FDA decision on an AD drug trial Dr. Salloway had brought up during the panel (aducanumab)! We will also be discussing next holiday-themed care package!  

This week we will be discussing insights from the panel, and also content from this week regarding TBIs and dementia.For this week's content, we have a brief literature review examining the neuropathology of TBIs and how they may be linked to later-life dementia (huge thank you to one of our members who suggested the topic!)

For this week's content, take a look at this page, which describes some of the common signs and symptoms of AD (and distinguishes it from normal memory loss associated with aging), and also has a few videos that highlight what a cognitive assessment might look like. Remember to sign up for our October Care Package, our live music performances (deadline is 10/19), and our panel event (scheduled for 10/22).

For this week's content, we have a short ~3 min video on how nursing homes have been impacted during COVID (on the right). For those who have signed up after Activities Fair, we will also go over club logistics and introductions! 

This week, we will be doing brief introductions and providing an overview of our club, answering any questions you may have about our activities this semester, and discussing the following article about COVID, isolation, and elderly (including those with dementia) in nursing homes! We will also be discussing September care packages and the Walk to End Alzheimer's event on 10/04!
